Annual Farm Tour
When: Thursday, June 18th 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Where: Dutch Acres Organic Dairy Farm – 1648 Pleasant Plain Road, Fountain City
The farm, owned and by Ypke and Tineke Veldhuis, is located north of Richmond
on U.S. 27 and west on Pleasant Plain Road.
The Public is invited!
The Chamber’s Agribusiness Committee is pleased to invite the general public to this informative event.
This year’s farm tour will highlight the Dutch Acres Organic Dairy, Smith Dairy, Cope Environmental Center, and Organic Valley Corporation.
Smith Dairy is celebrating their 100 year anniversary. There will be a raffle to benefit Cope Environmental Center. Items raffled will include two Cracker Barrel rocking chairs donated by Farm Credit Services and a $100 gift card from Harvest Land Co-Op. A special keynote speaker with Organic Valley Corporation, Dr. Paul Dettloff, will share information about what makes organic farming different from conventional farming.
There is no cost to attend but reservations are required. Call the Chamber at 962-1511 with your reservation before Tuesday June 16 at 5 p.m.
Transportation is available – Bus pickup will be at the Chamber Thursday June 18 at 5:00 p.m. or at Fountain City Wesleyan Church on U.S. 27 North at 5:15 p.m.
